No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would entitle an employee of a school district who participates in ActiveCare or a comparable school district-offered health insurance plan who resigns after the end of the instructional year to continued coverage and receipt of the same contributions available on behalf of the employee under Chapter 1579 of the Insurance Code until the end of the plan year.  No fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

School districts would be required to continue coverage and any contributions for coverage to which an employee is entitled under Chapters 1579 of the Insurance Code until the end of the plan year for an employee who resigns after the end of an instructional year.
