No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
Under Section 44.008(d), Education Code, school districts are required to file independent financial audit reports with the Texas Education Agency within 150 days of the end of the district's fiscal year. The bill would provide a consistent timeline for the publication of school district financial statements.
