HB991 by Rose (Relating to the confidentiality of certain records maintained by the Department of Public Safety regarding persons licensed to carry a concealed handgun.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to no longer require the Department of Public Safety to disclose whether an individual holds a concealed handgun license to any person submitting a written request.  The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
