IN RE:
HB1074 by Kolkhorst (Relating to the creation of an offense for a parent's contribution to a child's failure to comply with a sentence or court order relating to a disruptive activity or disruption of class on school property.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would create a Class C Misdemeanor offense for a parent contributing to a child's failure to comply with a sentence or court order related to disruptive behavior in a class or on school property. A parent committing this offense could be fined and/or ordered to provide services to a charitable or educational institution.
Local Government Impact
The bill requires that school districts develop policies and procedures related to the provisions of the bill and notify parents of the provisions of this bill at the beginning of the school year. Local government entities could realize a revenue increase associated with the payment of fines.
