HB1317 by Dukes (Relating to the design and construction of a cenotaph in the State Cemetery to honor 19th-century African American members of the Texas Legislature.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require that the State Cemetery Committee provide for the design and construction of a cenotaph in the State Cemetery in honor of 19th-century African American members of the Texas Legislature.  The bill would also require that at the committee's request, the Texas Building and Procurement Commission shall provide financial, technical, or other assistance to the committee in relation to the provision of the bill. 

The bill would require that the Texas Building and Procurement Commission transfer an amount not to exceed $20,000 to enable the committee to perform its duties related to the provision of the bill. 

It is estimated that the bill, if passed, would have a fiscal impact of up to $20,000 in General Revenue in the first year of the 2008-09 biennium.


Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
