LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 2, 2007

TO:
Honorable Dianne White Delisi, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1370 by Coleman (Relating to the Interagency Coordinating Council for HIV and Hepatitis.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill relates to the composition of the interagency coordinating council for HIV and hepatitis, which would be re-created effective January 1, 2008. The bill would require annual reporting by the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to provide administrative support to the council. It is assumed that any costs related to administrative support or reporting requirements would be absorbed within the existing budgets of the agencies. Reimbursement for any travel expenses of council members would not be permissible without specific authorization in the General Appropriations Act.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
