Fiscal Analysis

The bill would instruct the asset management division of the General Land Office (GLO) to sell certain real property consisting of approximately three acres located in the City of Frisco, Denton County, Texas on behalf of the Department of Public Safety. The bill would require the sale of the property as soon as practical and in accordance with Section 31.158 of the Natural Resources Code. However, as an exception to that statutory provision, the GLO would not be required to offer the School Land Board the first option to purchase this property.

Methodology

This fiscal note assumes that the property would be sold in fiscal year 2008, with a $300,000 revenue gain to the General Revenue Fund in that year.

No fiscal impact to the Department of Public Safety is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
