No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Tax Code to require an appraisal district to send a notice and appropriate forms regarding residence homestead exemptions when mailing tax appraisal notices to certain owners of residential real property.

The bill could affect state funding of the Foundation School Program to the extent that homeowners would apply for homestead exemptions for which they otherwise would not have applied.
