FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 3, 2007

TO:
Honorable Rob Eissler, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1403 by Eissler (relating to the eligibility of members of the State Board of Education to participate in a state employees group benefits program.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would make the 15-member State Board of Education eligible for the group benefits program provided by the Employees Retirement System (ERS).  There would be some administrative costs associated with this provision; but ERS estimates that they would not be significant.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
