TO: | Honorable Will Hartnett, Chair, House Committee on Judiciary |
FROM: | John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | HB1484 by Naishtat (Relating to provisional certification for certain guardians.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Government Code relating to provisional certification for certain guardians. The bill would require the Supreme Court to adopt rules regarding issuing provisional certifications, and individuals with provisional certification may provide guardianship services only under the supervision of a certified guardian. To the extent the bill would require the Supreme Court to review and promulgate rules, the fiscal implication to the State is not anticipated to be significant.
The bill would take immediate effect if the bill receives the vote of two-thirds the members of each house; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
