HB1503 by Lucio III (Relating to allowing certain assistant district and county attorneys to carry weapons. ), As Passed 2nd House

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government and the Penal Code relating to the eligibility of persons convicted of certain offenses to posses or carry certain firearms.
 
The bill would amend Government Code, Chapter 411, and Penal Code, Chapter 46, which states when offenses are not considered felonies or misdemeanors when an order of deferred adjudication has been expunged, pardoned, or vacated, set aside, annulled, invalidated, discharged, voided or sealed. The bill would take effect immediately if it is passed by two-thirds votes of all members of each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect on September 1, 2007.
 
The Department of Public Safety anticipates that the bill would have no significant fiscal impact to their agency.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
