Local Government Impact
Under provisions of the bill, the University of Texas System may impose on each student enrolled at the University of Texas at Brownsville an intercollegiate athletics fee in an amount not to exceed $7 per semester credit hour. The University of Texas System estimates the Intercollegiate Athletics Fee will generate $2,032,499 in Fiscal Year 2008 and $2,093,469 in Fiscal Year 2009. Enrollment increases will generate additional revenue. The Intercollegiate Athletics Fee will be locally assessed by the University of Texas at Brownsville.
