IN RE:
HB1528 by Jackson, Jim (Relating to prohibiting a grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund to an employer who employs one or more persons who are not lawfully entitled to be present and employed in the United States.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill requires that a grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund can only be made if the Comptroller certifies that the grantee does not employ persons who are not lawfully entitled to be present and employed in the United States. The bill requires the Comptroller to develop a procedure for making this certification. The bill requires a proposed grantee to provide information to the Comptroller as necessary to make the certification. It is estimated that the agency could accomplish the duties of the bill using available resources, therefore no significant fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
