No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 143, Local Government Code, adding to the required procedures for handling a complaint filed against a fire fighter in a municipality that has adopted Chapter 143 that within 30 days of receipt of a complaint, the investigator must inform the fire fighter in writing of the nature of the investigation and the name of each complainant, if known, unless a criminal investigation has begun as a result of the complaint or disclosing the information would hinder a criminal investigation.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
