No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to certain challenges for cause in criminal cases.  The bill would prevent the State or the defense from challenging a juror for cause if the juror indicates the juror could not recommend community supervision for a defendant under certain conditions.  To the extent the bill would amend procedures relating to challenging jurors, no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
