HB1627 by Chavez (Relating to the provision of state death benefits to certain federal law enforcement officers and special agents who assist state and local law enforcement agencies in this state.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would add state death benefits under Chapter 615 of the Government Code to include federal law enforcement officers and special investigators who are performing duties in Texas by assisting a state or local law enforcement. The bill also would change references to the former Department of  Mental Health and Mental Retardation (MHMR) to the Department of State Health Services or the Department of Aging and Disabilitiy Services, who are now responsible for MHMR's programs and functions.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
