Fiscal Analysis
The bill requires the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to develop and implement an expedited process for determining eligibility for and enrollment in Medicaid for persons on active duty as a member of the armed forces of the United States or the state military forces, or of the spouse or dependent of such a person.
Methodology
HHSC estimates a one-time cost of $3.0 million All Funds, including $1.5 million in General Revenue Funds, to modify automated systems in fiscal year 2008. The commission estimates no significant fiscal impact to client services or eligibility workload.

All estimated costs are for systems modifications in fiscal year 2008.
