LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 23, 2007

TO:
Honorable Mike Krusee, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1688 by Farias (Relating to the intersection of certain roads with the Trans-Texas Corridor.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to connect a segment of a state highway that is designated as part of the Trans-Texas Corridor with significant farm-to-market and ranch-to-market roads and major county and city arterials that intersect with the highway.

Based on the analysis of TxDOT, it is assumed the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the state.

The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house or otherwise on September 1, 2007.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
