No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would create as a misdemeanor offense the unsafe passing of a bicyclist by an operator of a motor vehicle. Depending on certain criteria, the offense would be punishable by a fine of up to $500 or as a Class B misdemeanor, which is a fine of up to $2,000 and/or confinement of up to 180 days in jail.
