FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 19, 2007

TO:
Honorable Mike Krusee, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1832 by Riddle (Relating to specialized license plates and parking placards for vehicles of persons with disabilities.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to specify that a chiropractor may provide the prescribed medical statement regarding the need for a handicap placard for a person with qualifying mobility problems.

Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

The bill would take effect on September 1, 2007.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
