HB1900 by King, Phil (Relating to the imposition of certain administrative penalties related to market power regulation violations in the electric power market.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Utilities Code to prohibit the Public Utility Commission from assessing a certain administrative penalty if the person against whom the penalty may be assessed remedies the violation before the 31st day after the date that person receives notice of the alleged violation and recommended penalty.

Based on the analysis of the Public Utility Commission, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

This bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
