LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 25, 2007

TO:
Honorable Harold V. Dutton, Jr., Chair, House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1909 by Bolton (Relating to the composition of a juvenile board.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Human Resources Code to add to the required composition of a juvenile board a justice of the peace and a municipal court judge from the county served by the juvenile board.

Local Government Impact

Section 152.0003, Human Resources Code, provides that compensation for serving on a juvenile board is in addition to all other compensation provided to a judge; therefore, there may be an increase in pay for the two judges added to each juvenile board.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
