LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 14, 2007

TO:
Honorable Patrick M. Rose, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1912 by Truitt (Relating to an exemption for certain facilities from the child-care licensing requirements.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 42.041(b) of the Human Resources Code by expanding exemptions from child-care licensing requirements to include facilities using internationally recognized methods for educating a mixed-age group of children in a preschool or kindergarten program. The agency estimates there would be a minimal cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
