IN RE:
HB1993 by Gattis (Relating to mandatory dismissal of certain suits affecting the parent-child relationship and involving the Department of Family and Protective Services.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would allow the court to retain a suit affecting the parent-child relationship on the court's docket if the trial on the merits commenced by the first Monday after the first anniversary of the date the court rendered a temporary order appointing the Department of Family and Protective Services as temporary managing conservator. The Department of Family and Protective Services indicates there would be some savings due to having fewer adversarial hearings. The Office of Court Administration indicates there would be no significant fiscal impact.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
