TO: | Honorable Mike Krusee, Chair, House Committee on Transportation |
FROM: | John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | HB2025 by Davis, John (Relating to the design and installation of signs at certain crosswalks used regularly by elderly pedestrians.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Texas Transportation Commission's manual of uniform traffic control devices to include provisions for the design and installation of warning signs to designate a marked crosswalk that is used regularly by elderly pedestrians. The bill would specify the duties required of a local authority regarding a petition requesting the installation of a warning sign.
Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
The bill would take effect on September 2, 2007.
