IN RE:
HB2026 by Gallego (Relating to the availability of automated external defibrillators at certain athletic clubs; providing a civil penalty.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require athletic clubs to make available automated external defibrillators. The bill provides for penalties for athletic clubs for violations of provisions of the bill. It is assumed the penalties would not have a significant fiscal impact. The bill would authorize the attorney general or a district, county, or city attorney to institute an action to collect civil penalties from athletic clubs. It is assumed the Attorney General's Office could absorb within existing resources any costs related to actions to collect civil penalties.
Local Government Impact
The bill would authorize district, county, or city attorneys to institute civil actions to collect civil penalties from athletic clubs. The bill would require civil penalties recovered in a suit instituted by a local government to be paid to that local government. It is assumed any costs for civil actions or any penalties recovered would not be significant.
