IN RE:
HB2027 by Gallego (Relating to the requirements for obtaining a permit authorizing the use of a hail cannon.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Agriculture Code to provide the Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) the authority to issue a permit authorizing the use of a hail cannon.  The bill would require a written resolution authorizing the use of the hail cannon from the commissioners court of the county in which the applicant intends to use the hail cannon as part of the application.

Based on information provided by TDLR, it is assumed that costs related to the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be covered by utilizing existing resources.

This bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
