No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would prohibit a peace officer from requiring a child under age 12 to sign a citation issued on school property. A school administrator or teacher would sign the citation to acknowledged that it had been issued and would be required to notify the student's parent or legal guardian within two days that the citation had been issued.
Local Government Impact
School districts would be required to update policies and procedures in accordance with the provisions of the bill.
