The bill would amend the Occupations Code to include the delivery of completed prescription drug orders to the definition of an automated pharmacy system, allow the filling and loading of completed prescription drug orders in automated pharmacy systems, and allow the automated pharmacy system to be located in a secure location approved by the Board of Pharmacy.
Based on information provided by the Board of Pharmacy, it is assumed that costs related to the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be covered by utilizing existing resources.
This bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
