LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 26, 2007

TO:
Honorable Robert Puente, Chair, House Committee on Natural Resources

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2039 by Callegari (Relating to the collection of certain data for the Texas Natural Resources Information System and the duties of the Texas Geographic Information Council.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would add emergency management related data to the data collected by the Texas Natural Resources Information System (TNRIS) and changes the due date of the biennial report of the Texas Geographic Information Council (TGIC) from September 1 to November 1 of even-numbered years, and the bill would clarify information required in the report.

The Water Development Board reports that because TNRIS is already collecting emergency management related data, and because changes to the TGIC report only move the due date, there would be no fiscal impact to the state associated with passage of the bill.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
