The bill would amend the Business and Commerce Code to require persons who offer rebates to pay the rebate to the consumer within the time period specified in the offer or if silent, no later than the thirtieth day after the properly completed rebate request was received. The Office of the Attorney General indicates that new investigations and cases could result from provisions of the bill but that any additional costs could be absorbed within current resources.
This Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
