No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend the Transportation Code relating to the definition of an authorized emergency vehicle.

The bill would amend Transportation Code, Section 541.201(1) which defines an authorized emergency vehicle to include a law enforcement vehicle authorized by the appropriate law enforcement agency for use by a person described as a peace officer in the Code of Criminal Procedure, Article 2.12. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2007.

The Department of Public Safety anticipates no significant fiscal impact to the agency.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
