FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 16, 2007

TO:
Honorable Dianne White Delisi, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2098 by Bailey (Relating to contracts for the disposal of grease trap waste and grit trap waste.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize a public agency to grant by contract an exclusive franchise for the collection and removal of grease trap waste or grit trap waste only after a competitive bid process. A public agency would be required to consider as the primary factor in awarding a contract the bidding entity's ability to provide the collection and removal services at the lowest cost to the generator of the grease
trap waste or grit trap waste.

The bill's passage is not expected to result in significant addititional costs for public agencies.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
