Honorable Will Hartnett, Chair, House Committee on Judiciary
FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2109 by Puente (Relating to additional criminal law magistrates in Bexar County.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Local Government Impact
Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government. However, according to the Comptroller of Public Accounts, BexarCounty anticipates appointing one or more magistrates at a total annual cost of $118,756 for salary and benefits, per magistrate, with no other new expenses associated with the additions.
