HB2112 by Patrick (Relating to banning handguns and certain other weapons from parking areas associated with schools or educational institutions; providing criminal penalties.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the offense of places weapons prohibited by adding any real property that is owned or leased by a public or private school or educational institution and routinely used by the faculty staff, students, or visitors of the school or educational institution, including a parking lot, parking garage or other parking area, to the places where a person cannot possess a prohibited weapon.  The offense of places weapons prohibited is punishable as a third degree felony. 

 

It is assumed that the bill would not significantly affect the operations of state or local government.
