No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to the evidentiary use of certain judgments, orders and docket sheets in a criminal case. The bill would direct a court other than a justice or municipal court to maintain under certain conditions a record of a defendant’s thumb or finger print or other information to identify the defendant. The record could be used to charge a defendant with perjury under certain conditions. To the extent the bill would amend court procedures regarding the use of documents in court proceedings; no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
