The bill would amend Government Code §46.002 to make the district attorney of the 109th Judicial District subject to the professional prosecutors law. Currently, under Government Code §41.013 the district attorney for the 109th Judicial District is compensated at a rate of 80 percent of the compensation paid a district judge (currently $100,000).
The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
