No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to certain requirements for employers not covered by workers' compensation insurance and require the commissioner to adopt rules.

Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Insurance, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
