No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to require in a county with a population of 125,000 or more, that the justice of the peace or candidate for justice of the peace file a financial statement with the county clerk, and to reflect that change in statute with regard to requirements of the county clerk's office in maintaining those records. The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
