HB2612 by Veasey (Relating to a study regarding the effectiveness of the James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Act.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend statute and provide for the Office of the Attorney General to conduct a study on the successful strategies, barriers, or obstacles relating to the effectiveness of the James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Act. The study would be required to be completed no later than January 1, 2009. It is assumed that any additional costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within existing state resources.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
