LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 23, 2007

TO:
Honorable Tom Craddick, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2653 by Harless (Relating to emergency services districts. ), As Passed 2nd House

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend sections within Chapter 775 of the Health and Safety Code regarding an emergency services district located wholly in a county with a population of more than three million.

Local Government Impact

According to the 2000 U.S. Census, the bill would apply only to Harris County. Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
