LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 9, 2007

TO:
Honorable Aaron Pena, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2750 by McClendon (Relating to the establishment, operation, and funding of pretrial victim-offender mediation programs in certain counties.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require a county with a population of more than 1 million but less than 1.4 million to establish, operate, and fund a pretrial victim-offender mediation program. Based on the 2000 U.S. Census, the bill would apply only to Bexar County.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
