IN RE:
HB2824 by Bohac (Relating to the eligibility of a voter to vote in a joint election if the voter's residence has changed.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Election Code, in a joint election, to authorize a voter whose residence address is not current because the voter changed residences within the same county to vote in the election precinct in which the voter is registered if that person resides in one or more of the political subdivisions participating in the joint election. The proposed change would apply only to an election ordered on or after September 1, 2007, which is also the effective date of the bill.
Local Government Impact
According to local government offices responsible for conducting elections, implementing the bill would have no fiscal impact.
