Honorable Leo Berman, Chair, House Committee on Elections
FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2926 by Van Arsdale (Relating to using county election precincts in every county for any election held on the November uniform election date.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Election Code by removing the population bracket that currently excludes a county with a population of more than 3.3 million, a county adjacent to a county with a population of more than 3.3 million, or a political subdivision in one of those counties from certain provisions related to using county election precincts in every county for any election held on the November uniform election date.
Local Government Impact
Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
