FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 4, 2007

TO:
Honorable Mike Krusee, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2976 by Morrison (Relating to the filing of a conflicts disclosure statement by a vendor or member of a governing body of a port authority or navigation district.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would repeal Subchapter P of Chapter 60, Water Code, thereby removing the requirement for members of the governing body of a port authority or navigation district and the vendors that provide goods and services to the authorities or districts to file a conflicts disclosure statement.

The provisions of the bill would apply only on or after the effective date of the bill. The bill would take effect immediately if it were to receive the required two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2007.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
