No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend statute and require the State Energy Conservation Office within the Fiscal Programs of the Comptroller of Public Accounts to conduct a study of methods for increasing the availability of certain information on the energy efficiency of certain residential property, to establish an advisory committee, and to establish standards for rating the energy efficiency of new and existing residential property. The office would have to make a report to the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives by October 1, 2008. It is assumed that any additional costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within existing state resources.
