LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 16, 2007

TO:
Honorable Leo Berman, Chair, House Committee on Elections

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3105 by Anchia (Relating to a program allowing for countywide voting locations in certain elections.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code to provide for countywide voting locations in certain elections.  It is anticipated that any additional cost to the state would be aborbed within current resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. It is assumed that a commissioners court of a county would elect to participate in the countywide polling place program only if funds are available.
