HB3133 by Hughes (Relating to the admissibility in certain proceedings of certain hearsay statements made by a young child or disabled individual.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Family Code relating to the admissibility of hearsay statements made by a young child or disabled person in certain proceedings.  The bill would authorize hearsay statements if the young child or disabled person is the victim of alleged abuse under certain conditions.  To the extent the bill would change court proceedings, no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
