HB3340 by Burnam (Relating to protection and assistance for victims of trafficking.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Section one of the bill would add new Chapter 67, Victims of Human Trafficking, to Title 1, Code of Criminal Procedure and describe the protections to be provided to the victims of trafficking.

Section two of the bill would add Subchapter P, Work Group on Assisting Victims of Trafficking, to Chapter 531, Government Code and requires the Executive Commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission to establish a workgroup to develop written protocols applicable to state agencies for the provision and delivery of services to victims of trafficking.  

Section three of the bill stipulates the dates by which the workgroup shall be established and the initial protocols shall be developed.

The workload impact of the bill is assumed to be minimal and can be absorbed using existing resources.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
