HB3360 by Martinez, "Mando" (Relating to the prerequisites for enrollment in certain peace officer training programs.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Occupations Code, Section 1701 which states a person may not enroll in a peace officer training program unless the person has received a high school diploma, a high school equivalency certificate, or an honorable discharge from the armed forces of the United States after at least 24 months of active duty service. The bill would take effect immediately if two-thirds of the House of Representatives and Senate members vote to enact the legislation.  If it does not receive the vote necessary for immediate impact, the bill would take effect on September 1, 2007.

The Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education anticipates no significant fiscal impact to the agency. 


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
